Torquay Personal Brand Photographer | Loose Ink Design
Photography is a form of storytelling, and some of my favourite stories to tell are artists stories. We are inundated with products and things on a daily basis, but we rarely think about how they came to be. Your treasured ceramic mug, the incense you burn every morning, the abstract art piece hanging in your bedroom, the wool jumper that keeps you warm in the winter, the turquoise ring you never take off.... all of those things were once just an idea.
An artist had a vision, the knowledge, materials and courage to create a piece that brings you joy and makes your world a little more beautiful. Photographing an artist helps capture each phase of their process, and shows the world a fraction of the work that goes into their craft.
I love photographing artists and their process, so I was really excited when Lucy from Loose Ink Designs hired me for a personal branding photoshoot. Lucy’s prints are heavily inspired by the coast, travel, human connection and years spent hiking and exploring mountain ranges. She uses traditional lino cut techniques and brings her drawings to life by hand carving and hand printing each design.
For her personal branding photoshoot, we captured a mix of portraits along the Surf Coast, behind the scenes type imagery to help show her process, and a few finished works.
As part of their commitment to fostering the next generation of yoga teachers, Wonder Yoga is gearing up for their teacher training program in 2025. This training is an incredible opportunity for aspiring instructors to deepen their practice, gain valuable teaching skills, and share the power of yoga with others. To capture the essence of the program and convey their studio’s unique vibe, they brought me on board to create a series of brand photos for them.
