A year ago my best friend and I discussed what my word for the year would be. What did I want my 26th year to be about?

EXPANSION

 I was two weeks away from a life changing transition. My grounding and security were about to drop out from underneath me but love held a bigger promise that filled me with faith.

Yesterday, celebrating my 27th birthday, I contemplated what word would describe this next year.

I chose SELFLESS.

At a time when the world is pushing us to focus on personal gain and the details of our own lives, I aspire to bring attention to the collective instead of the individual. We can live for ourselves or we can live for each other. Let's see what happens when I choose the latter.
